Jello Graveyard Cake
Graveyard Cake with Orange Jello
I would say this makes about 12 servings. Last night it was suggested that you could use different jello flavours for different seasons! Red for Valentines' Day, Green for St. Patrick's Day, etc.
Ingredients:
- Crushed Oreo Crumbs (about 1-3/4 cups), divided
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 5 tbsp butter or margarine, melted
- 1 pkg cream cheese, softened
- 1 tub (8 oz.) Cool Whip, thawed, divided
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 package of jello (the original recipe calls for two, I used one)
- ice cubes
- 1 cup cold water
- oblong cookies for tombstone decorations
Directions:
1. Mix 1-1/2 cups wafer crumbs, sugar and butter in 13x9-inch pan; press onto bottom of pan. Refrigerate until ready to use. Beat cream cheese in medium bowl until well blended. Gently stir in half the Cool Whip; spread over crust.
2. Add boiling water to gelatin mix in medium bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Add enough ice cubes to cold water to measure 1 cup. Add to gelatin; stir until slightly thickened. Remove any unmelted ice. Spoon gelatin over cream cheese layer. Refrigerate 3 hours or until firm.
3. Spread remaining Cool Whip over gelatin just before serving; sprinkle with remaining wafer crumbs. Decorate cookies with icing to resemble tombstones; insert in top of dessert. Add candies.
