Homestyle Short Ribs
3-4 lbs lean beef short ribs4 potatoes, peeled and quartered
4 carrots, peeled and quartered
1 onion, sliced
1 tbsp prepared mustard
2 tbsp ketchup
1 cup beef bouillon
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp vinegar
1/4 tsp pepper
2 tsp sugar
1 tbsp horseradish
Brown ribs in pan and drain off excess fat.
Place potatoes, carrots and onion in slow cooker.
Arranged browned ribs over vegetables.
Combine 8 sauce ingredients and pour over meat and vegetables.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours until meat is tender.
Remove short ribs and vegetables. Turn control to high. Dissolve 1/4 cup of flour in small amount of water and whisk into sauce in slow cooker to make gravy. Stir and cook until thickened. Serve with meat and vegetables.
This makes enough for about 4 servings.
