Chocolate Valentine Hearts

Here is the recipe for the cookies I sent to Nohé for Valentine's Day. I've been meaning to post it since February.. doh! It's from that Cookie Cook Book at home.

Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup cocoa
1 cup icing sugar
1 1/2 cups flour

Pre-heat oven to 350.
In a medium bowl, cream butter. Blend in cocoa and icing sugar, then flour. If dough is too soft to handle, chill for 15 minutes.
On a lightly floured surface, roll dough one quarter at a time to a thickness of 1/8 inch (3mm). Using cookie cutter, cut dough into heart shapes. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 15 minutes or until cookies seem firm. Transfer to racks to cool. Decorate with frosting.

Sweetheart Frosting:
3 tbsp butter, softened
1 cup icing sugar
1 tbsp frozen raspberry, strawberry or cranberry concentrate, thawed.
(I just took a bag of frozen raspberries and put some in a cup in the microwave and was able to get enough melted juice to use and it was delicious!)

In a small bowl, blend butter, icing sugar and juice until smooth.
